A NEW YEAR MESSAGE OF THE HONOURABLE CHAIRMAN INVESTMENTS AND SECURITIES TRIBUNAL: HONOURABLE AMOS I. AZI ESQ.

Honourable and Distinguished Colleagues and Staff of the Investments and Securities Tribunal, I am delighted to welcome you to the New Year 2022, to which I say “Happy New Year”. I hope the festive period afforded us all the opportunity to visit, bond with our loved ones, and take some well-deserved rest?

A new year heralds the beginning of new vision and expectations with its commensurate challenges. As we brace ourselves to make the best of it I wish to acknowledge the corporation, support and understanding of Members, the Chief Registrar and Staff of this great institution in the outgone year.

The dedication, patience and hard work exhibited by all kept the Tribunal focused on its statutory mandate despite the myriads of challenges we had to grapple with, to which I remain most obliged.

The Tribunal was able to meet the legitimate expectations of all and sundry, particularly with regards to general welfare issues within the available resources at its disposal. The year 2021 was indeed a very challenging one for the Tribunal, principally by the continuing negative impact of Covid-19 on the general outlook of the Nigerian economy and its implication for our Capital Market receipts, all of which had great impact on the Tribunal’s administration.

I wish to assure you that the Tribunal remains irrevocably committed to delivering on its major mandate of Capital Market adjudication and the welfare of its Honourable Members and Staff.

I also wish to assure you that all issues relating conducive working environment, the provision of appropriate work tools and human capital development amongst others will be given the desired attention to enable all perform optimally. In like manner I wish to call for improvement in our work ethics, discipline and other attitudes that may put the Tribunal’s integrity to trial

Accordingly I hope to count on your usual support, cooperation and understanding as we make good success of this year.

Have a fruitful new year.

Thank You.
