The Federal Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala approved the appointment of Mr. Habu Yerima Saleh as the
new Chief Registrar for Investments and Securities Tribunal.
Mr. Habu Yerima Saleh is a law graduate of the University of Maiduguri and was
called to the Nigerian Bar in 1994. Prior to a degree in law, Mr. Saleh obtained a
diploma certificate in law from the Institute of Administration of the Ahmadu
Bello University.
Mr. Saleh’s working experience commenced as an Assistant Registrar at the Upper
Area Court Gashua from where he rose to the position of Higher Registrar, High
Court of Justice, Maiduguri.
Mr. Saleh was with the firm of Dalhat & Associates from 1996-2000. He returned
to the public service as Magistrate Grade I and rose through the magisterial ranks
to Chief Magistrate I before being transferred to the Yobe State Sharia Court of
Appeal as Deputy Chief Registrar (Admin). The position he held until his
appointment as the Chief Registrar of the Investments and Securities Tribunal.
Mr. Saleh was appointed the Acting Chairman of the Tribunal in March, 2015 after
the dissolution of the Board of the Tribunal.
Mr. Saleh has been involved in responsibilities which include serving as the
Chairman of the Magistrate Association of Nigeria (MAN) Yobe State Branch and
National Vice President, MAN North-East Zone. He has attended many workshops
in and outside Nigeria.
